GEOTHERMAL

How does it Work

50% of the sun’s energy is absorbed into the earth where it holds a consistent temperature below the ground’s surface. Geothermal technology takes advantage of this energy source by utilizing a ground loop with a geothermal unit inside the building. An environmentally friendly antifreeze solution is circulated between the ground loop and Geothermal unit acts as the “heat transfer medium”. In the winter, the geothermal unit works to a furnace, distributing the heat via forced air or other system such as radiant floors. In the summer, it acts like an air conditioner, absorbing the unwanted heat from the interior of the building and putting it into your domestic hot water tank or back into the ground loop.

The Result - Geothermal systems work by moving heat, not generating it through combustion. For every kilowatt of electricity that is used, an average of 4.5 kilowatts of clean, renewable heat from the ground are transferred to the building or out of the building. That means that a geothermal system is 450% efficient or buy one kilowatt for electricity get 3.5 for free. Our Geothermal systems provide consumers with a method to reduce their environmental impact, while gaining significant cumulative savings and limiting their dependence on fossil fuels.

Savings/ROI
INSTANT ROI - Typically after our geothermal system is installed, the property has gained a greater market price that corresponds to the geothermal systems installed cost, or higher. SIMPLE ROI - The simple ROI is typically 3 - 10 years at current energy rates, depending on traditional systems compared to and grants available. As all energy prices continue to rise, your ROI/payback period become shorter and savings greater.

Environment
Because geothermal systems do not burn fossil fuels on site, they create no indoor air pollution - a major health benefit. In terms of carbon reduction, a typical geothermal system can remove from 1.3 tonnes to 20+ tonnes of GHG's annually depending on the traditional system it's being compared to. The long term effects are substantial!

Hybrid Renewable Energy Systems
Typically 86% of a home or buildings energy consumption is used for heating, cooling and hot water production. Why not own 75% or more of the energy you require to heat, cool and provide hot water? Why not the best available? Our hybrid systems combine the stability of geothermal technology and the high power of solar. The result is an ultra efficient, flexible system. Contact us today and take advantage of these vast, renewable resources!

What applications are best suited to our systems?

  • Residential Properties - Forced air and Radiant Floor applications
(Ex. new custom homes, acreages, rural/farm homes, currently heating with propane/oil...)
  • Commercial Buildings - Forced air and Radiant Floor applications
(Ex. shops, restaurants, hotels, condos, apartment complexes and more...)
  • Pools and Hot Tubs
(Ex. Indoor, outdoor, small, large, spas, hot tubs and more...)
